  • To encourage youth to become actively involved in the library, not only by checking out materials, but also by becoming aware of and participating in activities offered by the library.
  • To emphasize the value of contributing time to this important community resource that will serve youth for their lifetime.
  • To acquire valuable volunteer help for accomplishing the work of the library, especially during the busy summer months.
  • To enhance in youth positive self-concepts and confidence in their ability to contribute as vital members of the community.
