DEW - South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce
The South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce (DEW) is responsible for paying unemployment insurance benefits, collecting unemployment taxes, helping people find jobs, matching businesses with qualified candidates, and collecting and disseminating state/federal employment statistics.
In order for online job searches to be counted towards unemployment, they must be done through the SC Works webpage. You must be logged into the SC Works site for your searchs to be logged. To create an account, you will need your email address, social security number, and work history for the last 18 months.
